(For Immediate Release from Birds, IL)
White Owl Winery, Birds, Illinois, has just been notified that three of their wines have taken medals in the Second Annual Mid-American Wine Competition held this past weekend in Ankeny, near Des Moines, Iowa.
The latest wines that took medals for White Owl Winery are:
SPICED PEAR SILVER
SWEET LIBERTY BRONZE
OLD BLUE PORT BRONZE
According to W.O.W. Marketing Director, Joy Neighbors, It's nice to have a competition that focuses entirely on the wines of the Midwest. So many times consumers seem to forget that truly exceptional and rare wines are being crafted and produced right here in the heartland.
Almost 100 Midwestern wineries took part in this competition. In order to compete, all of the wineries had to be commercially licensed and located in one of eleven Midwestern states. A consensus determined all of the medals, based on flavor, terrior and balance. According to Competition Director, Bob Foster, There are some terrific wines from this region and we believe that a Midwest competition showcases these fine efforts.
White Owl Winery is located 10 miles north of Vincennes, Indiana on the Illinois side of the Wabash River. W.O.W. offers complimentary tastings of their award winning wines on the weekends. The winery is open Tuesday
through Sunday from Noon till 5 p.m. (Central time.) Look for White Owl Wines at retail outlets throughout Illinois and Indiana or visit their web site for more information, Whiteowlwinery.com.
